What is Amicare Foundation?

This is a Non-Governmental Organisation that was birthed with the aim of liasing with tourism organisations and other willing parties in promoting eco and cultural tourism while at the same time participating in community development activities in rural areas of Kenya. The foundation organises for visiting tourists to set aside some of their time and money to finance and take part in community based projects. Amicare Foundation has the dream of integrating tourism activities in the country with helping the local communities.

The Initiative

The Amicare Foundations is working very closely with Amicabre Travel Services. And the two initiated the program "Meet The Kenyans". Through "Meet the Kenyans", both aim to create a bridge linking, directly, the tourism industry and national building. The programme will involve committing visiting tourists with professional backgrounds or self-initiative to assist in community based activities. This activities run from renovations of schools, hospitals, recreational areas and other arenas in the community infrastructure amongst other development projects. On another hand the visitors are able to directly interact with the people from the communities they are assisting.
